MC JD
An award winning Artist, MC JD has been in the music industry for over 25 years. He has run the gauntlet in the entertainment industry. He is a legend in the Toronto Drum and Bass and underground community as an MC and label owner. He is also a staple in the Punjabi Bhangra industry as a rapper of choice for many top named international artists with chart topping releases. MC JD is an established International recording artist with over 126 releases on various labels and has travelled globally showcasing his creativity, unique skill set and diverse style. He is now honing on to the emerging South Asian desi hip-hop and electronic markets. We look forward to hearing more from MC JD.
BANDIT EMCEE
When we talk about elite hosts on the mic in the City of Toronto and in the past two decades, we can easily put this guy amidst those at the top of that list. Mike Bennett aka Bandit Emcee aka Mikey Ital has been in the industry for over twenty years. Bandit is best known for his effortless, smooth rhythms and bad boy talents in the Jungle / Drum N Bass community however he is no stranger at writing and composing any genre. Bandit is the perfect vocal pairing with any DJ, his melodic flow, crowd hype, and on-point lyricism bring's dancers and DJ closer together. We always look forward to more from Bandit Emcee.
CATALYST EMCEE
Born in Sudbury, Catalyst Emcee moved to the East End of Brampton as a toddler. This is where The Catalyst Emcee would find his love for music and performance through Church/Jazz choirs, concert/marching bands. It was in the early 90s his love for the Soundsystem culture began. Catalyst Emcee began performing on stage for drum & bass events and made his first studio recording in 2003 with producer DS-1 with a Jungle remix to Sean Paul's, gimme the light. Catalyst continued rocking the stage until 2006 when he took a musical hiatus to focus on his newborn daughter. Now back at full speed with multitude collaborations within the last few years, he is often considered the “Hook Man” on the label but not limited too. We look forward to some solo offerings.
DAVID KEITH
A member of the Toronto Jungle/D’n’B community since 1996 David graduated from The Trebas Institute of Recording Arts with a degree in Audio Engineering. Music has always been a major focus of David’s life and has been his main artistic outlet, whether it be performing or producing. David is Toronto's best kept secret. He has been involved with music production for many years and has an arsenal of unreleased content soon to be released. Now joining the iSmashhouse team as Chief Engineer & Artist Development, David can now utilize the many artistic pipelines that the label has to offer. With lots of projects currently on the go, We can look forward to hearing more in the near future.
PRIOR DAMAGE
After a few years as a free agent, Prior Damage now joins the ismashhouse crew. Adding his DJing skills to our all-star line up of international artists. Having mixes featured on Live from the Lair w/MC JD on Rukus Avenue Radio, and rolling with the crew for the ismashhouse TDot Love Takeover on Facebook live. His love of Jungle/Drum’ n ‘Bass both old and new shows through his track selection. From the hype high energy bangers on the “Raw” mixes to mellow-moody liquid vibes of the “Wata” series Prior Damage continues to impress with his mixes. A proper selector who’s constantly refining his craft. Rumors are he’s now gotten his hands into the music production side. We look forward to seeing what’s in store for the future.
TONE
The Classic story of a young kid getting a guitar for Christmas, Tone got his 1st electric guitar at 12 years old and hasn’t put it down since. A self taught multi instrumentalist cutting his teeth playing on the live stage with numerous Toronto bands, Tone has since moved to session work for the television and film industry and as building a home studio often does - Tone is now producing. Working under different aliases and covering many styles this guy lives and breathes music. With Ismashhouse genre-less direction, we look forward Tone future releases.
LEEROY TROUBLE
With 20 years experience as live sound tech in the Toronto band circuit LeeRoy Trouble is no stranger to productions. Offend found behind the decks playing tunes for any crowd LeeRoy can cover any genre of music. A visual artist at heart LeeRoy has spent the last 7 years merging the two disciplines and is now focused on the video medium working as the Director of Video Productions & Visual FX with ismashhouse. With Goodie Gosh being this camp's 1st music video offering, we look forward to future video productions.
MC ZEE
Literal jack of all trades in the vocal world MC Zee is is everywhere from his home of Toronto Canada to California USA, Amsterdam in Holland, Antwerp or Brugge in Belgium and many places throughout the UK all the way to his family roots in Malta waving the lyrical banner. Sharing the stage with the worldwide DNB and being in lineups with world famous artists sharing tracks with some of the lost prolific lyricists and continuously showing a hustle that most who tend to lag after the first few taste of success continues to burn deep inside Zee’s hunger for more. Nothing is done halfway be it on radio from UK’s Kool London or or his home country prophecy 89.5fm in Toronto. He has a radio show that you can catch his live broadcasted via EU/UK-based CRE8DNB every second Saturday or how personal live stream every week on his fan page. Zee’s Range shows no bounds that he is currently making all types of music from Dnb, hip-hop, trap and grime keeping a very Canadian / European style to his game.
VORTEX
Introduced to the rave scene at the age of 13, attending all - ages Drum and Bass events; instantly fell in love with the DNB culture. Starting from a early age he would freestyle but would never take his skills seriously until later in life, when he begin to write lyrically. Towards the end of 2018, Vortex entered Skibadee's “Auto-trader challenge on IG. His entry for the challenge connected him with a Toronto MC known as MC ZEE. MC ZEE brought VORTEX out to his show 'Cre8dnb in the 6ix'. Shortly after he was introduced to CATALYST, BANDIT and MC JD; all from Brampton, he joined the iSH family. He is also an MC for FAT32 Studios, Bassline Ballers and Deep Resonance. VORTEX is known for punchlines and quick tongue delivery mainly suited for JumpUp or Neurofunk as his style is dark and heavy! Vortex has only been MCing for less than 2 years and has been on with headliners such as Capital J and NC 17. A dedicated MC who is all about lyricism.
